AR organises D Zalenbung Football Tournament

Imphal, April 04 2025: Assam Rifles successfully organised the third edition of the D Zalenbung Football Tournament at D Zalenbung village in Chandel district.

The three-day event, which concluded on Friday, featured participation from 12 teams across the region.

According to a PRO IGAR (S) release, the opening ceremony witnessed a significant turnout.

Assam Rifles officials present at the event underscored the importance of sports in fostering discipline, teamwork, and camaraderie.

They also commended the efforts of the local community in facilitating the tournament and encouraged young athletes to compete with dedication and sportsmanship.

Community leaders, including the village chief and elders, expressed their appreciation for the initiative, recognising the Assam Rifles' continued commitment to youth empowerment and the promotion of social harmony, the release further said.

The tournament followed a league format and featured attractive prizes and trophies for both winners and runners-up.

Among the participating teams are YYC Yangoubung, Thingphai FC, and NMT (T Bongmol).

Notably, NMT (Yangoubung) secured the championship title in the previous edition of the tournament, it added.
