AMOFA storm past GDC into final of 15th Loktak Trophy Tournament

Imphal, April 05 2025: N Dhanaraj delivered a sensational performance, scoring a hat-trick to lead AMOFA Academy to a commanding 6-3 win over GDC in the second semifinal of the 15th Loktak Trophy (U-17) Tournament, held on Saturday at Loktak Multipurpose Higher Secondary School Ground.

AMOFA set the tone early, asserting control from the opening whistle.

Dhanaraj wasted no time in making his mark, finding the net twice in quick succession in the 5th and 9th minutes to give his side a strong start.

GDC responded swiftly through Mangte Steven, who pulled one back in the 11th minute to reduce the deficit.

However, AMOFA quickly regained their two-goal advantage when Kh Uttam scored in the 14th minute.

Dhanaraj then completed his hat-trick in the 39th minute, further cementing AMO-FA's dominance.

Just before the halftime whistle, GDC's Avijit managed to narrow the gap, bringing the score to 4-2 at the break.

The second half saw GDC continue to fight, with N Bikash scoring in the 55th minute to make it 4-3 and spark hopes of a comeback.

But AMOFA responded emphatically.

Weckson dashed GDC's hopes with a late brace in the 85th and 87th minutes, sealing a comprehensive victory and booking AMOFA's place in the final.
