MSL: NESU cruise, USA rally to beat MPSC

Imphal, April 05 2025: NESU delivered a commanding performance to defeat TRAU 3-0, while USA staged a comeback to secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory over MPSC in Saturday's fixtures of the 17th Manipur State League at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.

Md Mustofa, Khun-dom Umakanta Singh, and Thounaojam Meiraba Singh were all on target in NESU's 3-0 drubbing of TRAU.

Mustofa broke the deadlock in the 16th minute, though NESU were unable to add to their lead before half-time.

After the interval, NESU maintained their pressure, and Umakanta doubled their advantage with a clinical finish in the 67th minute.

Meiraba then put the result beyond doubt, netting the third in the 80th minute to wrap up a comprehensive display.

Meanwhile, USA produced a spirited fightback to claim a 2-1 win against MPSC, thanks to a brace from Keisham Dingkal Singh.

MPSC made a bright start as Thangjam Kiran Singh gave them an early lead in just the fourth minute.

However, USA responded strongly, and Dingkal restored parity in first-half injury time (45+2) with a crucial equaliser.

The second half saw Ding-kal strike again, this time in the 52nd minute, to complete the turnaround.

Despite MP-SC's efforts, USA held firm to defend their narrow lead and secure all three points.
