Imphal, April 01 2025: The 2nd edition of the General Thangal Memorial Open Football Tournament 2025 concluded on Monday at Mayangkhang Local Ground, following its commencement on 10th March.

The valedictory ceremony was attended by Dinganglung Gangmei, IAS (Retd), chairman Hill Area Committee, as the chief guest.

Also in attendance were KD Lamronba, president Thangal Students' Union (TAJ), and MLA Dikho, among other distinguished guests.

In the final match, Cha-rai Thangal FC secured the championship title with a narrow 1-0 victory over Za-lengam FC.

The decisive goal was scored in the first half by John Kennedy, wearing jersey number 9 .

The winning team was awarded a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh, along with a trophy and a citation, while the runners-up received Rs 75,000, a trophy, and a citation.

Individual accolades included the Golden Glove awarded to Md Azhar Ali of Charai Thangal FC, the Golden Ball to Loingam of MYC, the Golden Boot to Paolenlal Khongsai of Sadar Hills FC, and the Best Disciplined Team award to Sadar Hills FC .
