Assam Rifles flags off men's football team for Sentinels of North East Tournament

Imphal, March 08 2025: Assam Rifles held a flagging-off ceremony at Mantripukhri Garrison on Saturday, for the state's men's football team participating in the Assam Rifles Sentinels of North East Football Tournament 2024-25 .

The tournament aims to showcase top football talent from across the region.

Ahead of the event, Assam Rifles conducted an extensive selection process at Sainik Football Ground, Imphal West, from February 20 to March 1, 2025 .

40 aspiring players participated, with trials assessing physical fitness, tactical awareness, technical skills, and teamwork.

After multiple evaluation phases, 18 players were selected to represent Manipur.

The Assam Rifles Sentinels of North East Football Tournament promises intense competition while fostering unity and camaraderie among participating teams, informed a PRO IGAR (S) in a press release.
