State Triathlon & Aquathlon C'ships kick off

Imphal, April 06 2025: Four athletes shone on the first day of the 31st State Triathlon & Aquathlon Championships 2025, which got underway at Shyam Pukhri Swimming Pool, Kongba Bazar, on Sunday.

Saikhom Bikash Singh, Nongmaithem Dhananjoy Meitei, Luchingbi Soubam, and David Sapam claimed top honours in their respective events.

In the senior men's triathlon, Saikhom Bikash secured gold with an impressive time of 46:08.11 seconds, outpacing Lourembam Manipur Tomthinganba, who took silver, and Saikhom Roshan Singh, who clinched bronze.

Nongmaithem Dhananjoy dominated the junior boys' triathlon, finishing in 41:51.34 seconds to win the event.

Thangjam Langamba and Leishangthem Bishorjit Singh secured second and third place, respectively.

Meanwhile, in the sub-junior girls aquathlon, Luchingbi Soubam triumphed with a time of 20:48.57 seconds, while Leishangthem Saiyonbi earned silver and Akoijam Langlen Devi took bronze.

David Sapam delivered a stellar performance in the sub-junior boys' aquathlon, clocking the fastest time of 18:43.69 seconds to claim gold.

Yumlembam Aron Meitei secured silver, and Mohd Danish rounded off the podium with bronze.
