Volleyball tourney, friendlies conducted

Imphal, August 21 2025: Assam Rifles organised an Inter-village volleyball tournament at Kotlen in Kangpokpi district on the occasion of National Sadbhavana Diwas on Wednesday.

Six teams, including four men and two women participated in the tournament, which drew large support from villagers.

All participating teams were awarded prizes and certificates as a token of encouragement and appreciation.

Assam Rifles also organised a friendly volleyball match at Molcham village under Kheng-joi sub division in Chandel district on Thursday.

According to PRO IGAR (S), the match served as a vibrant platform for fostering mutual respect and goodwill between the force and the local community.

The match played between a team of 10 village youths and Assam Rifles was part of Assam Rifles' ongoing outreach efforts to strengthen ties with remote communities and promote peace through inclusive engagement, the PRO informed.
