Chingkheihunba PC off to flying start in 31st Governor's Cup Polo Tournament opener

Imphal, April 10 2025:
A seven-goal blitz from Basanti propelled Chingkhei-hunba Polo Club (CPC) to a resounding 10-6 victory over Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club (TYPC) in the opening match of the 31st Governor's Cup Invitation Polo Tournament 2025 at Mapal Kangjeibung on Thursday.
CPC seized an early 2-1 lead in the first chukker, with Basanti striking twice and TYPC's M Chaoba pulling one back.

The second chukker saw Basanti extend his fine form with another brace, taking CPC to 4-2, while K Jogendra managed a solitary reply for Thangmeiband.
CPC maintained their two-goal advantage in the third chukker, with Basanti adding two more to his tally.
TYPC kept pace through Jogendra's second and a goal from Kh Yaikhomba, leaving the scoreline at 6-4.The final chukker saw CPC surge ahead in style, netting four more goals - a hat-trick from Leishemba Takhellembam and Basanti's seventh of the match sealing their commanding win.
Though TYPC fought back with strikes from Jogendra (his third) and Yaikhomba (his second), their efforts proved in vain as CPC secured a convincing 10-6 triumph.
