U-23 cricket: YUCC, ESU script wins

YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel and ESU, Wangkhei scripted wins in league matches of the 2nd MNCA Men's U-23 Haobam Biramangol Singh Memorial Trophy 2024-25 on Monday.
In a match at Public Ground, Khangabok, YUCC beat PTCC, Patsoi by 79 runs riding on half-centuries by captain Ningthoujam Sanjit Singh (75 runs) and Ningthoujam Rohit Singh (56) .
YUCC posted 273 all out in 39 overs as PTCC bowlers Devas Singh Tongbram and Dominic Moirangthem claimed four wickets each.
Despite, a century by Andy Mandingbam (122 runs), PTCC managed only 194 runs in 38.4 overs after YUCC bowlers led by Khundrakpam Punsiba Mangang (three wickets), Devraj Nongthombam and Loitongbam Kiran Singh (two each), and Somraj Laishram and Loitongbam Kiran Singh (one each), struck at regular intervals.
Meanwhile, ESU defeated KSDO, Kiyamgei by eight wickets at Khudeiband Lampak, Taothong (Lamsang).
Soibam Sayonba Singh and Bishomcha Khundrakpam scalped four wickets each to restrict KSDO to 116 in 28 overs with captain Md Shah Jahan 60 runs the only notable contribution from KSDO batters.
The target was overhauled by ESU in 22 overs for the loss of two wickets.
Hanjabam Naoba Sharma (60 runs), Soibam Sayonba Singh (23 runs) and Sandham Abhinash Singh (22 runs) guided the Wangkhei side to victory.
