AR organises friendly volleyball match in Ukhrul

Imphal, April 05 2025: In its continued effort to foster goodwill and strengthen coordination among security forces and the local populace, Assam Rifles organised a friendly volleyball match with police personnel and locals of Shangshak village at Shangshak, Ukhrul District, Manipur.

The event was aimed at promoting sportsmanship, camaraderie, and enhancing civil-police- military cooperation in the region, said PRO IGAR (S) in a press release.

The match witnessed enthusiastic participation from the police personnel, troops of Assam Rifles and youths of Shangshak village, making it a vibrant community engagement initiative, it said.

The friendly match served as a platform to build mutual trust and understanding among the different stakeholders responsible for maintaining peace and harmony in the region.

The game concluded with a brief interaction, where participants appreciated the initiative taken up by Assam Rifles and conveyed their desire to engage in more such events in the future, it said.

Such activities reaffirm Assam Rifles' commitment to nurturing positive relations with both fellow sister agencies and the local population while promoting physical fitness and unity through sports, it added.
