VSAI win Sangai Trophy Veterans' Football C'ship

Imphal, May 19 2024: VSAI beat UVSA in a penalty shootout to win the RKFD's 5th Sangai Trophy Veterans' Football Championship 2024 at CYLC Ground on Sunday.

A goalless stalemate in the regulation time stretched the final match to spot kicks where VSAI edged out their opponents 3-2 to clinch the title.

In the penalty shootout, Kh Rajen Khananba, The Sanjoy and Ng Santosh all converted their shots to help VSAI lay their hands on the championship trophy.

Champions VSAI pocketed Rs 1,00,000 in prize money while UVSA received Rs 50,000 .
