TRAU, MPSC cruise in MNCA Elite Tournament

TRAU and MPSC enjoyed comprehensive victories in the MNCA Elite Tournament on Sunday.
TRAU outplayed RULE by 5 wickets at Oriental College.
The Kwakeithel side bowled out the Malom squad for 185 in 39 overs and then chased down the target in 30.2 overs.
It was a collective bowling effort that laid the foundation for TRAU's win as Senate Mayengbam, Priyojit Kangabam, Amritakaran Yumnam, Abdul Kasim and Anand Naorem picked up two wickets for their team.
RULE'S innings saw Nongthombam Denin score an unbeaten 61 .
Other notable run-getters for the side were Ayekpam Rakesh (43) and Sanjenbam Ananda (26) .
TRAU took 30.2 overs to overhaul the target with 5 wickets to spare.
Karnajit Yumnam led the chase with a fine knock of 50, with valuable contributions from Dr Siddharth Shah (36), Priyojit Kangabam (33), Bishworjit Nongmaithem (26) and Purkhram Bam Parfullomani (15) .
In the process, TRAU lost two wickets to Jay Singh and one each to N Sarojkumar and S Ananda Singh.
Priyojit Kangabam was adjudged the man of the match for his two wickets and 33 runs.
MPSC, meanwhile, beat SCCC by 73 runs at Khangabok Part-III Cherapur, Thoubal.
Electing to bat, MPSC were dismissed for 144 in 35.4 overs.
In the innings, Ngangom Sudesh (35), Sagolsem Sunil (30), Soubam Kingson (25) and Gelson Thoudam (10) got into double figures.
Despite their low total, MPSC produced a lethal bowling performance to bundle out SCCC for only 71 in 21.2 overs.
Man of the match Maibam Bijoykumar stole the show with the ball claiming 5 scalps as Sarangthem Shangker impressed with 3 wickets and Indraban S Koijam did his bit with 2 wickets to steer their team to an emphatic win.
