Training prog for tribal farmers conducted

Tengnoupal Forest Division organised a one-day training and capacity building programme for tribal farmers on non-timber forest produce plantation techniques at Maryland village community hall, Tengnoupal on Thursday.
The programme held under Economic Empowerment of Tribal Farmers through Nort Timber Forest Products (NTFP) Development in Manipur was attended by additional principal chief conservator of forests (administration and Planning) cum Nodal Officer NTFP Project Manipur Soreiphy Vashum as chief guest and deputy conservator of forests (Tengnoupal) Dr Leishangthem Jeeceelee as functional president while deputy conservator of forests (Research, Silviculture and Training Division) cum deputy nodal officer NTFP Project Manipur Waikhom Rornabai, deputy conservator of forests (Biodiversity and Medicinal Plants) Wungrin Lansing and Maryland Village headman Mayarchung Jago were present as guests of honour.
Range Forest Officers (Tengnoupal) Athokpam Ranabir, (Headquarter Tengnoupal) Tipu Raj Toijam, (Moreh) Ngangom Nandabir and (Machi) SR Marson Anal, and Forest Department staffers also took part in the programme.
Spice Board of India field officer Usham Sudheina talked as resource person in the programme participated by farmers from different parts of Tengnoupal district.
