Positive cases rise by 61, death toll by one

Altogether 61 persons including 10 CAPF personnel were confirmed Covid-19 positive at RIMS (3), JNIMS (3) and other testing centres (55) out of 1725 samples tested during the last 24 hours which puts the daily positivity rate at 3.5 per cent.
Kamjong recorded the highest positivity rate at 8 per cent followed by Imphal East 5.5 per cent, Imphal West 5.1 per cent and Thoubal 4.8 per cent.
The 51 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal East (17), Imphal West (18), Thoubal (6), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (2), Chandel (1), Kamjong (4) and Ukhrul (1) .
In the meantime, the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported one Covid-19 death during the last 24 hours which took the death toll to 1956.The victim had co-morbidities and was not vaccinated.
A bulletin issued Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang informed that 28 Covid-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (1), RIMS (1), JNIMS (21) and CCCs (5).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,24,700 (general population 1,20,339 and Central security personnel 4,361).It includes 584 active cases (general population 566 and Central security personnel 18) and 1,22,160 recovered cases (general population 1,17,822 and Central security personnel 4,338).The recovery rate is 97.96 per cent.
Meanwhile, a total of 158 D-type oxygen cylinders and six B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State on Wednesday.
The cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 20,83,653 (first dose 12,65,965 and second dose 8,17,688) .
It includes 7565 doses administered yesterday.
Till yesterday, 54.08 per cent of the State's total population had been given the first dose of Covid vaccine while 34.93 per cent had received both the first and second doses.
