Moreh, November 18 2021:
Meetei Council Moreh (MCM) advisor N Pulindro Singh has urged authorities concerned for special arrangement to allow women vegetable vendors from Tamu town in Myanmar to enter Moreh town for selling vegetables even though the Indo-Myanmar border has been sealed.
Speaking to the media, N Pulindro pointed out that the government needs to take into consideration of the fact that people of Moreh are highly dependent on Myanmar for their daily needs.
Moreh denizens are of the opinion that there should be no hindrance in transportation of vegetables into Moreh, if the consignment is thoroughly checked at the border.
Even if there is a total shutdown in Manipur, people of Moreh do not face any hardships if the Indo-Myanmar border remains open, he said.
Pulindro appealed to the BJP led government to permit entering of vegetable vendors from Myanmar into Moreh in consideration of the people living in the border town.
