PTRC, CHAMP script dominant victories

Imphal, January 29 2025: PTRC and CHAMP notched up comfortable victories in Wednesday's league matches of the 9th MNCA Elite Tournament 2024-25.PTRC thumped SCCC by 6 wickets in their encounter at Model Hr Sec & Oriental College Ground.

Opting to field first, PTRC bundled out SCCC for 136 in 40 overs.

Bish-worjit Konthoujam was the standout bowler for PTRC, taking 3 wickets, while Raj Kumar Rex, Jotin Pheiroijam, Chingakham Bidash, and Laitonjam James each claimed one wicket.

For SCCC, Ulenyai Khwairakpam (30) and Moirangthem Thomas (26) were the top scorers.

In response, PTRC comfortably chased down the target in 21.4 overs, finishing with 6 wickets in hand.

Ngariyanbam Jameson remained unbeaten on 70, supported by 31 not out from Jotin Pheiroijam.

Ngariyanbam Johnson (14) and Khangembam Santosh (13) also contributed to the chase.

For SCCC, Moirangthem Thomas and Khaidem Joyraj each took 2 wickets in a losing effort.

In the other match, CHAMP outclassed MODEL by 4 wickets at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.

Asked to bat first, MODEL were dismissed for 120 in 37.5 overs.

Langlonyamba Singh M (32), Robertson Laishram (19), Thoudam Deepak (11), and Bijenkumar Nongmaithem (11) were the only players to reach double figures.

Mohd Ahsanul Kabir was the star performer with the ball for CHAMP, taking 4 wickets.

Chingakham Ranjan and Thingbaijam Nicholson contributed with 2 wickets each, while Md Sultan Karim claimed 1 wicket.

Chasing a target of 121, CHAMP required 29.2 overs to complete the chase, finishing with 6 wickets lost.

Yumnam Karnajit top-scored with 42 runs, followed by Nongthombam Gulson (31), Nawaz (13), Afjal Khan (8 not out), and Chingakham Ranjan (2 not out) .
