60th State Badminton Tourney Unilkumar, Aimson, Upananda enter U-19 boys' semi-finals

Imphal, October 05 2015: Leishangthem Unilkumar Singh, Oinam Aimson Singh and Upananda Rajkumar booked semi-final berths in the boys' U-19 singles category in the ongoing 60th State Badminton Tournament, organised by the Manipur Badminton Association, today at MBA Indoor Stadium, DM College Campus, Imphal.

In the first quarter-final match of boys' U-19 singles, Leishangthem Unilkumar Singh routed RK Martin Singh (21-10, 21-11) .

Oinam Aimson registered a 21-19, 21-9 win against RK Aris in another quarter-final while Upananda Rajkumar overcame Laishram Dikson 13-21, 21-17, 21-13 in the third match.

In the women's singles quarter-finals, Naorem Purnima Devi downed Takhellambam Bina (21-6, 21-14), Yumlembam Dhanabati defeated Konjenbam Priya Devi (21-10, 21-19) and Rubashah Hussain edged out Khwairakpam Roshni Devi (21-16, 21-18) .

In the men's doubles quarter-final, RK Cinir Singh and W James Singh beat L Ramesh and RK Devjit (21-13, 21-11), Haobijam Sundar Singh and Khwairakpam Romesh Singh handed a 2-0 (21-9, 29-27) defeat to Kh Tenjing Singh and Maisnam Deepak Singh, Kh Manjit Singh and Konthoujam Dinku Singh downed H Punshiba and L Dinesh Singh (21-13, 21-19) and in the last quarter-final H Kishan Singh and L Momo Singh claimed a 2-0 (21-14, 21-15) victory against Ch Kapilchandra and Ningombam Nadaraj Singh.

In the mixed doubles event, Haobam Sushilkumar and Ph Inakhunbi, L Ramesh Singh and Kelly Chhakchhuak, RK Cinir and RK Miranda Devi advanced to the semi-finals.
