Imphal, October 05 2015:
The Meitei Nationalist Party (MNP) strongly decried the reported interference of Nagaland MP Neiphiu Rio in the affairs of Manipur like writing to the PM urging him not to give his consent to the three Bills, meant for the protection of Manipur, which were passed by the State Assembly recently.
In a statement, B Angousana Sharma, founding president of MNP said that the action of Rio, whose party is an ally of the BJP at the Centre, is a clear indication that BJP is using its own political partner to ensure that the Bills are not converted into Acts.
Also, the MNP strongly condemned the alleged stoic silence of the three MPs of Manipur.
What stops the three Congress MPs of Manipur from urging the PM to clear the three Bills, it asked while urging them to take pro-active steps in getting the assent of the President.
The MNP warned MPs and political leaders of other States to stop meddling in the political affairs of Manipur.
