Social service camp held
Naharol Semgat Sagat Apunba Lup, (NASSAL) Sikhong conducted a one-day social service camp at Nongpok Sekmai Primary Health Centre complex today in continuation of its 119th birth anniversary observation of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot, a statement issued by NASSAL secretary informed.
NASSAL team along with Nongpok Sekmai PHC staff also planted saplings inside the PHC campus today.
Peace poster contest
Lions Club of Imphal East conducted a peace poster contest on the theme, "Share Peace", at the premises of Lai Khurembi Mandop, Khurai Sajor Leikai today, a statement issued by Lions club secretary S Premananda Singh informed.
One out of the three winning posters of today's contest will be forwarded for the international grand prize, it added.
Road block
The Thangapat Lambi Demand Committee has announced to impose an indefinite ban along the Thumbuthong road (Thangapat Mapal road) and Advance Hospital road from 7am of Oct 6.
In a statement, the committee said that the ban is to protest the alleged indifferent attitude and failure of the authority concerned to black-top the Wangkhei Puja Lampak - Harikhagok Makhong stretch of Thangapat Mapal road.
Shutdown
There will be power shutdown of 11KV Lamphel feeder from 9 am to 5 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday (Oct 6 and 7) for reconductoring of HT lines from LSD-I office to Sanakeithel.
The consumers in the area will not get electricity during the above period, according to a statement issued by MSPDCL.
SBM campaign
An awareness programme on Swachh Bharat Mission was held today at Ward No 8 and 9 of Nambol Municipal Council.
A rally was also held after a campaign meeting today, according to a statement.
Lawmkunga
PC Lawmkunga, who recently retired as the Chief Secretary of Manipur, has been appointed as the Chairman of Mizoram Public Service Commission.
An order to this effect has been issued by the Dept of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, Govt of Mizoram.
