5th Annual Journalists' Sports Meet 2015 : Sangai Express clinch cricket title

The 5th Annual Journalists' Sports Meet 2015 organised by the All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) which began from March 5 concluded on March 8 .
Seven sports disciplines including cricket, football, badminton, volley ball, table tennis, athletics and chess were played in the meet, while the torch rally was staged on March 5 from Kangla fort.
In the final match of cricket, Sangai Express defeated Unified Team by 20 runs.
Sangai Express took 99 runs with 1 wicket down in 10 overs.
In reply, Unified Team could secure 79 runs in 10 overs with 7 wickets down.
Th Kishan of Sangai Express clinched the man of the match title.
He scored 55 runs in 30 balls and took 3 wickets in 12 balls.
In the football final, Poknapham edged out Unified Team by a margin of 2 goals to one.
In the men's 100 m race, Th Kishan of Sangai Express stood first while W Kumarjit of ISTV and A Yaiphaba of Impact TV secured the second and third posititon respectively.
In women's 100 m race, Sonia Maibam and M Bidyalaxmi both of ISTV took the first and second position while Anish Rona of People's Chronicle bagged the third position.
In men's 800 m race, Th Kishan of Sangai Express won the title while N Birjit of Imphal Free Press and W Kumarjit of ISTV took the second and third position respectively.
In women's 800 m race, M Bidyalaxmi and Sonia Maibam of ISTV claimed the first and second positions respectively while Bimola of Senmitlon stood third.
Jeet Akoijam of Imphal Times clinched the first position in men's javelin throw while Ng Thomas of ISTV and Geet of Naharolgi Thoudang took the second and third position respectively.
In women's javelin throw, Rataneshwori Goswami of Hueiyen Lanpao stood first while T Bimola and M Bidyalaxmi of ISTV secured the second and third position respectively.
In men's discus throw, Jeet Akoijam of Imphal Times took the first position while Th Kishan of Sangai Express secured the second position.
Y Okendrajit Luwang of DY 365 bagged the third position.
In women's discus throw, Rataneshwori Goswami of Hueiyen Lanpao bagged the first position while K Nirmala of Sangai Express and Sonia S of Poknapham secured the second and third positions respectively.
Jeet Akoijam of Imphal Times, Premchand of Impact TV and M Bishwarjit of ISTV respectively clinched the first, second and third position in the men's shot-put.
In women's shot-put, S Bimola of Senmitlon, Rataneshwori Goshwami of Hueiyen Lanpao and S Soniya of Poknapham respectively secured the first, second and third position.
In men's long jump, Th Kishan of Sangai Express won the first position, Santosh Dhan of Poknapham came second and W Kumarjit Meitei of ISTV claimed the third position.
In women's long jump, K Nirmala of Sangai Express, Sonia Maibam of ISTV and S Bimola of Senmitlon won the first, second and third position respectively.
In volleyball, Poknapham registered an easy 25-6, 25-14 win against Eveninger.
In men's badminton final, N Bikram of Mannaba defeated I Ibobi of Sangai Express 21-13, 21-6 while N Reena of Impact TV took the women's badminton title after defeating L Monika of Impact TV 15-6, 15-6 .
In men's table tennis final, Th Nirmal of Kangla Pao downed I Ibobi of Sangai Express 11-6, 4-11, 18-16, 11-7 .
S Soniya of Poknapham defeated T Ronita of Impact TV 11-3, 11-4 in the final of women's table tennis.
In the chess final, I Ibobi of Sangai Express beat S Hemchandra of Hueiyen Lanpao.
