Sanatomba tops 10 km run in Jiribam

Jiribam, September 08 2026: K Sanatomba, Thingbaijam Sanathoi and and Md Toibur Rahman made podium finishes in the 10 km run organised by 48 Bn CRPF in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India under the Khelo India's "Sports for Peace and Development Across the Nation" initiative.

The run was flagged off by Commandant of the 48 Bn CRPF Tashi Gyalik from Jiribam Higher Secondary School playground.

Around 100 runners ran towards the DC office before turning back to the starting point during the run.

The event was also graced by Superintendent of Police (SP) Prakhar Pande, IPS; Commandant of 87 Battalion Rajat Jain; CRPF 48 Battalion's 2-I/C Mukesh Kumar Sevaria; CRPF 48 Battalion's Assistant Commandant Rajesh Kumar and CRPF 48 Battalion's Assistant Commandant M Radha as dignitaries.

Apart from the top three finishers, four runners were also handed out consolation prizes.

87 Bn to organise half marathon on Sep 22

87 Bn CRPF is also planning to host a half marathon in Jiribam on September 22 .

The half marathon is open to both male and female runners.

Top 10 runners in both the categories will be feted with attractive cash prizes.

The top three finishers with receive Rs 20,000 ; Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively while the 4th and 5th place finishers will get Rs 5,000 each; 6th and 7th place finishers will get Rs 3,000 each; 8th place finishers will get Rs 2,000 each and the 9th and 10th place finishers will receive Rs 1,000 each.

Registration can be done online.
