CYLC, BDBA emerge Group winners in 15th Junior Men's Basketball Championship

Imphal, August 08 2025: CYLC, Chingamathak and BDBA, Bishnupur completed their league stage sweep at Uripok today to enter 15 th Junior Men's Basketball Championship as Group A and Group B winners respectively.

CYLC clinched a 33-27 win over TDBBA, Thoubal in the final Group A match today to complete whitewash thanks to Langamba's leading 8-point finish including two triples as A Chetan and Thotreithum Siro added 4 points apiece.

P Vega and A Prince also added 3 points apiece for the team while Ng Tyson, H Pritam, L Leishemba, Wungshungmi Siro and one player added 2 points apiece.

For TDBA, Y Sachindrakumar scored 16 points including a triple as L Shitaljit (6 pts), N Jonathan (3 pts) and Y Binison (2) added 27 points to end their campaign winless.

Meanwhile, BDBA who had beaten YOSC 49-44 and LMYVA 49-43 in the previous matches, carried forward their fine run to seal a 32-24 win against YWC-Malom for the third straight victory.

M Sendick top-scored with 12 points for BDBA in the team's win as Kh Malemnganba added 6 points and M Suryajeet and H Shivaraj added 4 points apiece.

L Shangkerson, Y Shashikanta and Ph Inunganba also added 2 points apiece for the Bishnupur side.

Meanwhile for YWC, A Malemnganba scored 3 triples on the way to his match-high 13 points as L Nikhil and K Chourajit added 4 points apiece and L Dhanajit added 3 points.

In an inconsequential Group A match staged this morning, Youth Club defeated ESU, Wangkhei by 65-19 points as Taibangnganba and Y Wilson ran riot.

Taibangnganba scored an impressive total of 24 points while Wilson added 20 points.

Y Benjamin also managed a double digit figure adding 14 points as Y Vikash (5 pts) and N Herison (2 pts) contributed 7 points.

In a Group B match staged later in the day, YOSC, Khurai defeated LMYVA, Lalambung Makhong by 60-55 points in a topsy turvy game.

LMYVA led the first quarter 17-12 but YOSC rallied back to dominate the following quarters 15-14, 16-13 and 17-11 to come out 60-55 winners.

A Sasom topscored with 18 points for the winners as N Ronaldo scored 16 points.

Th Groson also scored two triples on the way to his 9-point finish as Biranjan added 6 points, L Laba and Ng Lanchenba scored 4 points apiece and W Lanchenba scored 3 points.

Dhanaras meanwhile added match-high 22 points alone in a lost cause for LMYVA as his compatriots Malemson added 15 points, Gourav added 9 points and Krish added 5 points.

LMYVA crush YOSC 49-19 in sub-junior boys' competition

Meanwhile in a sub-junior boys' competition league round match, LMYVA stretched their winning run by handing YOSC a crushing 49-19 defeat.

Anderson starred in the match scoring 27 points alone including a triple as Eddie and Tomthinganba scored 8 points apiece.

Ronald (4 pts) and Nelson (2 pts) also contributed 6 points to the team's tally.

On the other hand, C Chitan scored 13 points including a triple for the Khurai team as Chitravash added 6 points off three field goals.
