AKSDO stun YWC by 35 runs to win MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament crown

AKSDO, Khangabok stunned YWC, Langthabal by 35 runs in a clash of bowlers to take home the title of the 4th edition of the MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament days.
The feat came after the women's team of the same club clinched the title of 2nd MNCA U-15 Women's One Day Trophy by beating THAU recently.
After winning the toss at Kongba Dhobi Lampak, YWC, Langthabal opted to field first and saw AKSDO crawl to 126 for 9 in the allotted 30 overs.
They however were dismissed for 91 runs in 21.3 overs of the chase to miss out on the title.

Khundrakpam Borish 24 off 40, Akoijam Punshiba 10 off 19, Kh Boiton 10 not out off 46 and Moirangthem Bishwonath 10 off 33 were the double digit run getters for AKSDO after they were asked to bat first.
Sayonba of YWC returned with the best bowling figures of 3/20 in his spell of 6 overs as Daneil Seram (2/13 in 4 overs) and Irom Lanchenba (2/6 in 2 overs) shared four wickets.
Chasing 127 for the win, YWC had a horrible start and were reduced to 27/4 in 5.2 overs and the downhill continued despite Khoisnam Kelvinson's unbeaten 24 off 35 ball; Pukhrambam Bonison's 16 and Daneil Seram's 11 as they succumbed at 91 in 21.3 overs with Khundrakpam Shailesh and Khundrakpam Bidyasagar running riot.
Shailesh emerged the pick of the AKSDO bowlers finishing with a four-for (4/18 in 5 overs) while Bidyasagar returned with the figures of 2/18 in 6 overs and Ningthoujam Bidyananda picked one (1/24 in 5 overs) .
Winners AKSDO eventually walked away with the title trophy and a cash prize of Rs 30,000.YWC, meanwhile, received a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and a trophy.
Player of the final match, Shailesh was feted with a cash prize of Rs 2,500 and a trophy besides other individual prize winners including highest wicket taker-Khutheibam Abu Sufiyan of KSDO (21 wickets in 8 innings; Rs 2,500 and a trophy); higest run scorer- Elangbam Chinglemba of AKSDO (479 runs in 9 innings; Rs 2,500 and a trophy); emerging player- Sahid Khullakpam of AMCA (17 wickets in 6 innings and 42 runs in 4 innings; Rs 1,500 and a trophy); and player of the series- Elangbam Chinglemba of AKSDO (Rs 3,000 and a trophy) .
As many as 33-teams took part in this league cum knock-out tournament organised by the Manipur Cricket association.
