Illegal SIM card seller arrested

Imphal, April 01 2025: One Wahengbam Ajit Meetei alias Apa (32) of Leimakhong Chingmang, presently staying at the Khurkhul Mandop Yumpham relief camp was arrested by the police from the relief camp on March 29 on the charge of selling SIM cards procured through fraudulent means.

In a release, Manipur Police Control Room expressed suspicion that some SIM cards might have been sold to anti-social elements for unlawful activities.

The police also seized 22 BSNL 5G Ready SIM cards, 51 Airtel 5G plus SIM cards, 44 Airtel 5G plus MNP SIM cards, one mobile handset and one Aadhaar card from the possession of the accused person.
