Imphal, March 27 2026: The Kabui Union.

Manipur celebrated its 9th Foundation Day at the Majorkhul Community Hall on Wednesday.

The event was followed by an emergency executive meeting that resulted in a significant leadership change for the union.

The meeting addressed the repeated absence of the incumbent general secretary.

Athoi Kamei.

After thorough deliberation, and in accordance with Article 93 A of the Union's Constitution, Athoi Kamei was removed from his post for failing to provide notice for three consecutive meetings.

Following the decision, the executive committee appointed TT Kabui, a retired Executive Director of LIC, as the new general secretary for an interim period.
