Imphal, May 11 2024: A hand grenade was placed at the reception counter of Saina Institute of Medical Science and Nursing College located near Porompat crossing at around 10 am today.

Sources said that the hand grenade was left there by some unidentified persons.

On receiving information about the grenade left at the institute, a team of Porompat police station went to the spot and retrieved the grenade at around 11.20 am.

The institute was recently served a monetary demand by one underground outfit, said the sources.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered at Porompat police station in connection with the incident.
