Imphal, September 08 2026: An improvised explosive device (IED) was found on a road at Yairipok Angtha near Thambalnu Market under Andro police station at around noon today.

Sources said that some passers-by came across the IED wrapped in a black polythene bag and they promptly informed police.

The IED fitted with nails and iron balls was safely defused by a bomb disposal squad before it was detonated at Ngariyan Chingkhong.

Meanwhile, the Eastern Youth Organisation, Angtha has expressed strong condemnation against planting an IED on a public road near Thambalnu Market today.
