Imphal, November 07 2025: Manipur International University (MIU), Ghari has officially been removed from the University Grants Commission's (UGC) State Private Universities Defaulter List with effect from November 6, 2025 .

MIU was named in the list along with two other private universities of the State on October 2, 2025 .

In a public notice, T Brajeshwari Devi, Registrar, MIU has expressed gratitude to the teaching, non-teaching, and administrative staff of the university for their dedicated efforts in ensuring compliance with UGC norms through the timely submission of all required documents to the competent authorities and the UGC .
