Imphal, July 28, 2012: Lilong Post of 28 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector organised a painting competition for the Class I to V students of Uripok Awang Leikai LP Primary Madrassa on July 28.The prizes for the best paintings, consolation prizes and sweets were distributed to all participants, said a PRO IGAR (S) release adding that Zila Parishad member and School Principal graced the occasion.

In another occasion, 27 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector organised a sports meet at Pangaltabi High School on July 27. The management, faculty and students of the school enthusiastically participated in the Sports Meet.

The aim was to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship among the students, as well as to provide amenities to improve the sports infrastructure, the release informed.

The Unit also presented sports amenities to the School.

Similarly, 27 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector conducted an immunization and Hepatitis detection programme at Kakching and Pangaltabi today where a large number of local population benefited from the programme.

27 Assam Rifles informed the locals that the Battalion is planning more such immunization drives within short spans of time.

For each drive, vaccination booths will be set up at the Battalion HQ as well as at the posts which will cover the nearby villages.
