DBSP endorses demand of Lilong MC

Imphal, August 20 2021: Democratic Bharatiya Samaj Party (DBSP), Manipur State Committee said that the party supports the demand raised by Lilong Municipal Council of holding urban local bodies' election ahead of the state assembly election.

In a statement, DBSP said that the demand raised by Lilong MC is legitimate and returning the funds sanctioned by the Centre without utilising them will have serious impact on the state's economy and development.

While taking precautions in relation with Covid-19 pandemic, the government should also keep in mind the implications that might arise due to non-functioning of the urban local bodies, the statement added.
