Himalayan vulture rescued

Imphal, April 28 2017:
Himalayan Griffon vulture or Himalayan vulture, a rare species of bird which is also known as ' Langja' in Manipuri dialect was rescued from Bishnupur ward no 1 JNV by one Wangkhem Gulapi Singh yesterday.
Gulapi handed the bird to Divisional Forest Officer, Bishnupur where it was later given to Manipur zoological garden.
The bird has been included in red list compiled by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUNC) for being one of the endangered species, reports our correspondent.
