Lam Sendrang spotted at Loktak

Imphal, April 10 2025:
The critically endangered Yellow-breasted Bunting (Emberiza aureola), locally known as Lam-Sendrang, has been spotted once again at Loktak Lake, a Ramsar-designated wetland and one of North East India's most ecologically significant lakes.
The bird was observed on January 12, 15, and 17 under the mentorship of Dr Harsh Gulati, Assistant Professor in the Dept of Zoology in LPU .
