Thoubal, September 07 2023: The valedictory function of two-month long "Training Cum New Production On Thang-Tagi Yannaba Makhalsing" was held today at the auditorium of Association for Paona Memorial Arts and Rural Development Services (APMARDS), Thoubal Wangkhem.

The two-month long training programme which began on July 10, 2023 was organised by APMARDS under the scheme of Chief Minister gi Artistes singgi Tengbang (CMAT), Department of Art and Culture, Government of Manipur.

The valedictory function was graced by HLMTTCA Irilbung Director, Padmashri Guru K Shanathoiba Sharma; former Guru of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA) and Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Academy, National Secretary Y Mahendrakumar Singh as the presidium members.

The Thang-Ta artists showcased enthralling Thang-Ta tactics in today's programme.

Speaking as the chief guest, Padmashri Guru K Shanathoiba stressed on the importance of promoting Thang-Ta, one of the most important indigenous martial art forms of Manipur to keep alive its legacy.

As a part of the programme, the attendees paid tribute to the brave sons who laid down their lives for safeguarding the integrity of Manipur by observing two-minute silence.

During the programme, certificates were presented to the participants of the training programme.
