CADA organises awareness programme at Sanjenbam

Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA), organised an awareness programme cum camera meeting at Sanjenbam Khunou community hall.
The awareness programme was a part of series of programme organised to give awareness about the role of the public in preventing the use of alcohol, drugs and other intoxicants during election time.
The programme jointly organised by CADA, Sanjenbam Khunou Women's Welfare Association and Sanjenbam Khunou Development Club was attended by Takhellambam Sanatombi, secretary Sanjenbam Khunou Women's Welfare Association; Seram Tamna, vice president CADA Imphal East district committee; Nameirakpam Tiken, president Sanjenbam Khunou Development Club and Ningthoujam Doren, vice president CADA as presidium members.

Speaking at the programme, Dipanjit Ningthoujam, vice-president CADA said the money spent by candidates in giving intoxicants to votes are recovered by misusing funds meant for development when they are elected as representatives.
In order to ensure that the funds meant for development are put into proper used, voters should stop looking for free foods and intoxicants during election.
Seram Tamna also reiterated the need to stay away from intoxicants in order to bring a more peaceful and stable society.
