Security measures intensified in state

Imphal, January 16 2022:
Manipur Police, in continuation of its security measures in connection with the upcoming state assembly election and Republic Day celebration, conducted search operations in various parts of the state on Sunday.
According to police reports, a team led by Imphal West Commando OC inspector P Achouba carried out search operation in Kwakeithel Mayai Koibi area from 5.50 am to 7.30 am.
During the operation, the team searched 90 houses and verified 150 people including four bail-outs.
However, there is no report of any detention or arrest made.
The same team also conducted search operation in Thangal Bazar, BT Road, Prajatantra and Rup Mahal Tank areas under City police station from 3.30 pm to 4.10 pm.
Verification of 120 people who were present in the area was done by the team, while three people without proper doc uments were detained and handed over to City police station for further verification.
They were later released after their identities were confirmed.
Meanwhile, a team of Imphal East Commando Unit conducted verification of bail-out people in Andro area by visiting their respective houses.
In all, 20 bail-out people were verified during the operation.
