Senapati, May 12 2015 :
Kuki Students' Organization (KSO), Sadar Hills has appealed to the people of the State to bear with the organization during the seven days economic blockade on all the National Highways within Sadar Hills, our correspondent reports.
Thangminlen Kipgen, president, KSO Sadar Hills said the organisation had no choice but to impose the blockade as the State turned its deaf ears to the cries for justice of the innocent van driver who was nearly beaten to death while his vehicle was completely torched.
The organisation's president further urged the people to co-operate.
Bandh and blockade, he added, has become the most resourceful tool to draw the attention of the State Government on any issues keeping aside its [bandh & blockade] negative impact on the people.
Had the State Government been able to tackle any issue timely and accordingly, bandh and blockade would not have found a place in any kind of protest.
Blaming the State Government for any inconvenient situation arising out of the blockade, the student body president pointed out that the organisation had given the State abundant time to address the issue and fulfil the charter of demands democratically and at the same time had also imposed a 24 hr bandh.
Thangminlen appealed to the public to bear with the organisation during the blockade and avoid sidetracking the issue for the sake of justice.
He further appealed to the transport association not to violate the blockade so as to maintain a peaceful environment.
