Flag hoisting ceremony of BJP candidates held

Official flag hoisting programme of BJP candidates in Chandel district for the ensuing Autonomous District Council election was held today at 41- Chandel BJP Mandal office located at Lonpi Khunou village, Chandel district today.
BJP candidates for various DCCs of the district along with officials of BJP Manipur State unit including its vice-president, Jaydev Sharma, ex-Minister Hemanta, BJP National Council member Janglet Haokip, convener of Cultural Cell, BJP Manipur Pradesh, Naba Volcano and president of Yuva Morcha BJP Manipur Pradesh, O Malesh attended the programme.
Campaigning for the ensuing ADC poll was set off by the party officially today.
Speaking at the function, Janglet Haokip said that only six of the party's candidates will fight the election in respect of 42- Tengnoupal Assembly segment which has 12 seats.
He said that five of the party candidates were coerced to withdraw their candidature by certain section.
In 41- Chandel Assembly segment which has 12 seats, BJP has put up candidates in 11 DCCs.
Although the party fielded candidates for all the 12 seats, one was disqualified in the scrutiny.
Janglet appealed to all the candidates not to betray the party after winning the election and to remain loyal to the BJP.
Pointing out that the State Congress Government has miserably failed in providing development, Jaydev Sharma said that it is high time for the people to search for a viable alternative to the Congress Govt and bring in change by electing the BJP candidates.
Hemanta said that in order to ensure development in the State like in other States where the BJP is in power, change should be brought from the grassroots like the ADC.
Naba Volcano appealed to all concerned to elect BJP candidates in the coming ADC polls.
He added that various Union Ministers will visit the State to campaign for the BJP candidates.
O Malesh said that contrary to public conception, BJP is a non-communal political party based on equality of all.
