'Working against free and fair election is against the law'

IFC Minister Ngamthang Haokip on Tuesday pointed out that working against free and fair election is against the law and can be considered a "sin" .
The IFC Minister was speaking during the flag hoisting cum public meeting of Kaikhosei Lhouvum, INC Candidate in respect of 11-Motbung District Council Constituency at the residence of the candidate at Motbung village.
Ngamthang Haokip further appeal the people to refrain from disturbing the conduct of election in any forms and said that when the flow of democracy in the society is smooth, peace will automatically exist.
Peace, he said is the key factor for all round development.
The Minister urged everyone to pursue democracy without violence while pointing out that Non-Violence is the ideology of the Indian National Congress.
Flag hoisting of Kaikhosei Lhouvum, INC candidate 11-Motbung DCC has been made by Ph.
Majarin, President Block Congress Committee Saitu while Pastor Thangkholun Haokip, Motbung Baptist Church performed the blessing ceremony.
Around 600 people from various communities participated in the function where more than 35 village chiefs within 11-Motbung DCC attended the function apart from SL.Paokhosei, President Sitlhou Council (India) who is also an ex-minister, SL.Lamthang, Chairman Motbung Village Authority, Ningthem, Advisor Sub-Committee Motbung Meetei Leikai, Dilip Bhurtel, Secretary Sub Committee and various church leaders.
Other dignitaries and the candidate also addressed the gathering in the function while a grand feast marked the occasion.
