Imphal, May 12 2015 :
The designated camp of the Kuki National Liberation Front (KNLF) has been shifted from Semol village of Chandel district, reports our correspondent.
According to a highly placed source, the cadres of KNLF, who surrendered before 9 AR, Moreh on September 9, 2013, were staying at their designated camp at Semol village under Khengjoi PS in Chandel district since last year.
The KNLF cadres had reportedly assaulted villagers of Sehao, the neighbouring village of Semol, and labourers engaged in road construction under PMGSY on May 9 .
Following the assault on the villagers and the labourers, villagers of Sehao fled the village with a firm resolve not to return to the village until the KNLF camp is shifted from the place.
The fleeing villagers are being provided temporary shelter at the office of BDO Khangbarol.
The source further said that the designated camp of the KNLF has been shifted to KNO's Hermon camp at Chehlep under Tengnoupal PS today with the intervention and consent of the higher authorities.
The cadres were escorted to their new camp by a team of Dogra Regiment and Chandel police.
The source also added that Sehao villagers who are taking temporary shelter at the office of BDO Khangbarol are likely to return to their village within a couple of days.
