Many more protest death of Babysana

Teachers and staff of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School, took out a protest in-front of the school campus today demanding justice for Ningthoujam Babysana as well as to ensure swift normalisation of the academic atmosphere of the school.
Speaking to media persons, one of the teachers, Nepram Sorojini, said that the death of Babysana is an unfortunate and deeply shocking incident and appealed to the authorities concerned to deliver justice to the deceased student at the earliest.
She then continued that ever since the school was shut down, thousands of students have been unable to attend any classes and the situation has also caused great inconveniences to the teachers and staff of the school.
On the other hand, the Tingjinpong Eveninglories Prayer Centre (TEPC) Manipur has also strongly condemned the mysterious death of Ningthoujam Babysana, while demanding swift justice for the deceased.
A press release issued by the association today stated that senior citizens from different districts/locations namely Noney, Tamenglong, Senapati, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur and Thangmeiband, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Imphal East came together and staged a sit in protest condemning the delay in delivering justice to Babysana.
It warned school authorities/ teachers and wardens against mental and physical torture of the students and appealed to all parents to remain alert and act responsibly instead of relying completely on the teachers.
Maintaining that parents should not hesitate to face such situations boldly, it stated that parents/guardians should maintain a healthy and friendly relationship with their children so that their children can freely share information about any abuse they encounter.
Extending sympathies to the bereaved family members, the association urged the State Government to do the needful and book the culprits at the earliest.
Nambol Bazar Women Vendor Association in collaboration with Nambol Apunba Meira Paibi Lup and street vendors/shopkeepers, staged a sit in protest at the bazar today.
Over 2000 locals and organisation members, who took part in the protest demonstration, raised slogans demanding immediate justice for Babysana.
On the other hand, Shillong Manipuri Students' Union has denounced the death of Babysana and condemned the State Government for not taking the case forward in a swift manner.
A press release issued by president of the union demanded the State Government and the authorities concerned to provide an efficient, humane and accountable justice system and to conduct a fair and speedy investigation.
It also demanded the Government to impose strict rules and regulations for establishing private hostels/boardings in the State and to monitor them from time to time.
The union urged the authorities concerned to award strict and befitting punishment to the culprits involved as well.
