Imphal, April 25 2019:
On the occasion of the 6th 'Indian Colonialism Resist Day' which the proscribed PREPAK has been observing since a few years back in commemoration of the killing of four innocent civilians by CRPF at Langjing Khunou, Patsoi on April 26, 1980, the outfit has called upon all the people of the land to wage a collective liberation movement in order to establish an independent and progressive Nation.
A statement issued by the outfit's publicity and propaganda secretary in-charge LeibaakNgaakpa Luwang decried that Manipur has been extensively militarised since the State was merged into the Indian Union, and people's misery has been only multiplying day by day.
There is a growing fear that all the indigenous people of the land would be wiped out sooner rather than later.
At the same time, the Government has been actively pursuing a sinister policy to ignite a civil war in Manipur.
Rather than ensuring any of the political, economic and civil rights guaranteed by the United Nations, GoI has been scheming continuously to suppress and oppress the people of Manipur (Kangleipak), it alleged.
Today's degenerated social condition marked by open carousal among local women and nonlocal men is an offshoot of Manipur's existence within the political boundary of India for the past many years, it said.
Even though political leaders of India have been shouting at the top of their voice that India is the world's largest democracy, the real of picture of democracy is yet to be seen in any part of India.
On the contrary, India is an oligarchy which is ruled by a handful of super-rich people, it claimed.
In the name of democratic rights, Indian leaders have been teaching lessons on self-aggrandisement to a group of Manipuri people.
This group of people and their doctrine of self-aggrandisement have started eating into the vitals of the society.
The only solution to this malady is restoration of Kangleipak's lost freedom, PREPAK asserted.
Pointing out that education is the most vital element for any society to march forward, the outfit said that Kangleipak is quite rich in terms of human resources.
There are many talented students, sports persons, craftsmen, musicians and artistes but the Government of India has been suppressing their talents rather than promoting them, it alleged.
There had been several instances of the GoI either totally ignoring or marginalising talented sportspersons of Manipur.
There is a growing need to establish self-rule and promote and exploit all the resources, alleged the outfit.
Apart from suppressing the State's human resources, GoI has been scheming to exploit all the natural resources of Manipur for their own benefit.
A large number of refugees have made their settlement at Jiribam and hill areas of Manipur, and they are indulging in rampant deforestation activities thereby posing serious threat to environment and ecological balance, said the outfit.
At the same time, Indian military forces, wearing the cloak of AFSPA and other draconian laws, have been unleashing all kinds of repressive measures against the people of Kangleipak with a sinister motive to exterminate all the indigenous people, it alleged.
There are innumerable cases of fake encounters, forced disappearances and oppression of innocent people.
There were also several cases of mass killings and the killing at Patsoi, Langjing Khunou on April 26, 1980 hurt the people of Manipur so much that it gave a big impetus to the liberation movement, the outfit remarked.
It then called upon all the people to stand united and adopt a firm resolution to uproot the alien rule from the soil of Kangleipak.
