Govt announces ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh

Imphal, January 23 2026: The State Government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the next of kin of Mayanglambam Rishikanta Singh s/o M Tombi Singh of Kakching Khunou Hijam Uchan Makhong Leikai, according to a press release issued by Commissioner-cum- Secretary (Home) N Ashok Kumar.

The State Government has expressed deep concern over the the abduction of Mayanglambam Rishikanta with one Chingnu Haokip from the latter's residence at Tuibong, Churachandpur district by some unknown armed miscreants and the subsequent killing of Rishikanta at Natjang village, Churachandpur.

According to the press release issued by the Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Home), Chingnu Haokip is the wife of Mayanglambam Rishikanta.

The State Government has also expressed its deepest condolences and shared the grief and sorrow of the bereaved family.
