Curtain raiser for 11th IISF held at IBSD

Imphal, November 20 2025: The BRIC-Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Imphal, successfully organised a Curtain Raiser Programme today at its Takyelpat campus to build momentum for the upcoming 11th India International Science Festival (IISF-2025).As per a release issued by BRIC-IBSD, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, researchers, and academicians from across Manipur.

The 11th IISF is scheduled to take place at Panjab University, Chandigarh, from December 6-9, 2025, jointly organised by the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Department of Science & Technology, Department of Biotechnology, Department of Space, Department of Atomic Energy, Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, Panjab University, Chandigarh Administration, and Government of Haryana in association with Vijnana Bharati.

Dr H Nanaocha Sharma, Director (Additional Charge), BRIC-IBSD, inaugurated the programme, while Dr Ng Iboyaima Singh, Dean, College of Food Technology, Central Agricultural University, Imphal, graced the occasion as chief guest.

The highlight of the event was a scientific quiz competition that saw active participation from students, particularly from Ananda Singh Higher Secondary School, Imphal, fostering scientific curiosity and competitive spirit among young minds.

Dr Ch Brajakishor, Scientist-E, IBSD, delivered the opening remarks while the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr W Mohendro Singh, Senior Administrative Officer, IBSD.

Notably, the Curtain Raiser aims to generate enthusiasm and encourage active participation from Manipur and the North Eastern region in the main IISF-2025 event.

The IISF serves as a unique platform for scientists, researchers, innovators, students, and the public to engage with science through exhibitions, interactive sessions, competitions, and demonstrations, celebrating India's scientific achievements & technological advancements.
