RB Koijam sets record straight

Imphal, February 21 2025: Former Chief Minister Radha Binod Koijam has clarified his stance regarding a video clip circulating online, where he's seen emphasizing the need for Meeteis to unite and support former Chief Minister N Biren Singh amidst the conflict between Meeteis and Kukis.

In a press release, Radha Binod clarified that the video is of an old speech which he made more than a year ago on February 12, 2024 during a book release function which was graced by N Biren as the chief guest.

He further said that he was speaking about the need for Meeteis to unite while facing the onslaught on them.

Saying that the situation was different back then and the perspectives have fundamentally changed now, Radha Binod continued that he has not been in touch with any media person local or from outside for more than a year.

"Some media have reported as if the speech was made in a recent function in Guwahati.

This is nothing but a malafide manipulation," he clarified .

Continuing that he has not been to Guwahati in the last 1-2 years, Radha Binod maintained that some people with vested interest are deliberately manipulating the video to protect it out of context.

Those responsible for spreading such misinformation are committing a serious offense and can be held liable for prosecution under the relevant laws of the land, he said.
