Mother's Day was celebrated across the State to honour the mothers for their immense and selfless contributions and enormous sacrifices.
In a heartwarming gesture, Mother's Day was celebrated with the elderly mothers staying in relief camps under Thanga Assembly Constituency by presenting simple gifts and arranging a feast.
The Mother's Day celebration was held in the honour of late Chongtham ongbi Keina Devi and late Potshangbam ongbi Taruni Devi organised by their family members.
The event commenced with paying of floral tributes to the photo of the aforementioned mothers led by Thanga AC MLA T Robindro.
Speaking at the event, former LIC employee Ch Lukoi paid homage to all the mothers who have dedicated their lives for the betterment of all.
He maintained that the day holds great significance in respect of Manipur since Manipuri mothers and women are well known for their resilience, strength and their eminent contributions in the society.
Attending the event, one of the mothers appealed to all concerned to expedite measures to restore peace and normalcy in crisis-stricken Manipur as the lives of the people have been adversely impacted.
The Indian Army personnel of Red Shield Division deployed in Imphal East district celebrated Mother's Day by conducting an awareness camp where a lady Medical Officer delivered lecture on sensitive issues like peripartum and postpartum health issues and other physical and mental issues faced by the mothers.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), paid homage to the resilience and nurturing essence of mothers in the Thoubal, Kamjong and Bishnupur districts today.
The Thoubal and Nambol Company Operating Base of Assam Rifles commemorated the occasion with mothers of Thoubal and Oinam Relief camp, Nambol.
A friendly interaction was carried out with the elderly women of the area and the relief camp.
The event marked the cake cutting ceremony followed by refreshment as a mark of gratitude to the selfless service of the mothers, said a statement by the Assam Rifles.
At Kamjong, Assam Rifles organized a high tea event in the border villages of Kongkhan, Kamtong, and Nampisha.
This thoughtful initiative provided an opportunity for families, especially elderly mothers, to spend quality time with their children, creating a warm atmosphere for loving interactions.
The event concluded with refreshments and engaging conversations with the local community.
Moreover, informative sessions were conducted focusing on women empowerment and the pivotal role of mothers in both family and society.
These discussions aimed to educate and inspire, highlighting the significance of women's contributions and the importance of recognizing their role in community development.
The civilians and village authorities conveyed their appreciation to Assam Rifles for orchestrating the Mother's Day celebration, expressing their steadfast support to the Security Forces and acknowledging the meaningful connections forged through such initiatives, added the statement.
Mother's Day was also celebrated at Khorilol Shanglen in Lakhipur, Assam organised by the Manipuri Chanura Khorjei Lup, Cachar.
