No party can beat BJP, claims Biswajit

Imphal, April 09 2019: Saying that both Congress and CPI are good at only propaganda and their days are over, BJP Manipur Pradesh Election Campaign Committee co-chairman Th Biswajit has claimed that there is no political party in the country which can beat BJP.

He was speaking at an election rally of BJP candidate in Inner Manipur PC RK Ranjan held today at Ningomthong Sairom Leirak.

Biswajit said that people know very well that none of the promises made by Congress were ever fulfilled in spite of the fact they ruled the country for very long years.

Vast majority of the population including youth yearn for a change in the country.

That is why more and more people are supporting BJP, he claimed.

He asserted that the days of both Congress and CPI have gone and they would never rise again.

Appealing to all the people to elect both the BJP candidates if they wish change and development, Biswajit said that CPI's Dr Moirangthem Nara was defeated in State Assembly election because his performance as a Minister/MLA was not satisfactory.

Even though Dr Nara secured large number of votes in Imphal and greater Imphal areas in the last Lok Sabha election, he did not get much vote in other areas because people there knew Dr Nara's true colour, he asserted.

The ensuing election is a critical test for electing the most competent candidates and it is not a film or drama.

As such, the time is not yet right for RK Kaiku alias Somorendro, he said.

Regarding CAB, Biswajit who is also a spokesman of the State Government said that foreign Nationals would not come to the State in hordes in a day just because CAB has been passed.

Most countries have their own citizenship Acts/laws.

If Indians have lived in developed foreign countries including the USA for five years or more, they are given option to obtain citizenship of their host countries, Biswajit said.

There are many Manipuri natives who have been given citizenship in different countries, he said.

The Citizenship Amendment Act 1955 has been already amended five times and the BJP-led Government was working to amend it for the sixth time.

The sixth amendment seeks to grant Indian citizenship to citizens of neighbouring countries who faced persecution and had lived in India before January 31, 2014, he explained.

Biswajit then pointed out that BJP's election manifesto clearly says that the linguistic, cultural and social identity of North East people would be protected even if CAB is passed.

As such, CAB would not harm Manipur and the North East region in any manner, he claimed.

He then demanded a convincing reply from Congress party on where and how the MP Local Area Development Funds granted to the Congress MPs during the past 10/15 years were utilised.

Biswajit also spoke at a similar election rally held at Bashikhong.
