The striking JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO today charged the government of playing divide and rule policy to break the unity of the employees instead of efforting to end the 77 day old cease work strike.
In a statement signed by L Priyobarta, publicity secretary dispatched today said that instead of trying to bring the striking employees in negotiating table, government is indulging in break the strike.
The JAC is not receiving any intimation from the government to hold talk and relay what is the actual position of the government on the demand of the employees and how far government is affordable to the demand of the employees.
The government is not willing to hold talk with the JAC as government is not in the position to answer questions to be raised by the striking employees when they spread propagandas that government has no funds to meet the demands of the employees, the statement alleged.
Government should produce a white paper with regard to fund shortage.
If it is true that government has no fund to pay the sixth pay bands, JAC could even takes decision not to take the latest revised pay bands and enjoy the fourth pay structure of yesteryear and scarifies, the funds to be spend in paying the salaries for the welfare of the people, the statement put down.
