Imphal, August 08 2025: In an effort to enhance local security and foster community collaboration, Assam Rifles organised a comprehensive security meeting at the Company Operating Base in Komlakhong in Bishnupur district.

According to PRO IGAR (S), the gathering served as a vital platform for reviewing the prevailing internal security landscape and engaging directly with grassroots representatives from surrounding villages.

The participants included club secretaries, ward members, representatives from Konuma, Komlakhong, Laphupat Tera, Khordak, and Phabakchao villages as well as Laphupat Tera relief camp, reflecting the inclusive nature of the engagement.

The PRO informed that the key agenda points included assessment of the security situation in the respective villages, role of civil society in maintaining law and order, and emerging threats such as extortion, monetary demands and kidnapping.

Village representatives shared specific concerns and sought guidance on mitigating risks and improving coordination with security forces.

Assam Rifles official briefed the attendees on recent security measures undertaken in the region and encouraged active public cooperation to ensure peace and stability.

The interaction was marked by openness, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to safeguarding the community, the PRO maintained, adding that the meeting concluded with positive feedbacks from the participants, appreciation of the Assam Rifles' consistent outreach and its role in promoting harmony through regular dialogue.
