World Malaria Day observed at Keirak

Kakching, August 21 2025: District Health Society (DHS) and National Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme (NVBDCP), Kakching observed World Malaria Day in collaboration with Leimarembi Village Level Federation (VLF) at Keirak Mayai Leikai Panthoubi Shanglen on Wednesday.

The programme held under the theme 'Malaria Ends With Us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite' was attended by Keirak Gram Panchayat Administrative Committee chairperson Elangbam Shanti Leima as chief guest and DHS, Kakching mission director and chief medical officer Dr Thaodem Rajen as president, while DHS district programme manager Oinam Pushpa, Kakching district public health nursing officer W Hemabati and Keirak United Development Organisation president Leitanthem Chandrakumar were guests of honour.

Kakching malaria technical supervisor Kangujam Okendrajit was resource person of the programme, which was participated by ASHA and Anganwadi workers of Keirak, Kakching Health Department staff and members of VLFs under Keirak GP .
