Army upgrades drug rehab centre

Leimakhong-headquartered Red Shield Division of the Indian Army constructed a fabricated shelter at the Drug Rehabilitation Centre, Keithelmanbi Colony in Kangpokpi district, as part of Operation Sadbhavna, to support the mission combat the drug epidemic, plaguing the community and offer a fresh start to those battling addiction in the state.
According to PRO Defence, the inauguration and handing over ceremony was attended by local leaders, residents and patients along with their families.
Currently, the centre accommodates 40 patients, undergoing various stages of recovery.
While expressing that the Army's endeavour will help contribute to development of infrastructure at the Rehabilitation Centre and ensure essential amenities, the PRO stated that the community members conveyed appreciation to the Army and Red Shield Division for their ongoing support in the region's development.
